From 19 to 23 November 2017, the German-Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) and the Aegean Exporters' Association (EIB) organised a delegation trip for Turkish industrial companies to Germany to learn about Industry 4.0.
The trip concluded with a round-table on 23 November 2017 at the Bavarian State Ministry in Munich. In this context, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Joachim Berlak (software4production GmbH / FOM University of Applied Sciences Munich) emphasised the importance of Industry 4.0 for emerging economies:
Relevance for Turkey: "Even though it is commonly assumed that Industry 4.0 is primarily about increasing productivity in our high-wage countries, it is precisely the medium-sized industrial companies in emerging economies that can gain sustainable competitive advantages through increases in productivity and quality."
Cooperation: Prof. Berlak pointed to the existing collaboration with the partner Integron in Istanbul, through which industrial customers had already been won over for Industry 4.0 solutions.
