Skepticism about AI in Industry: Results of a Study in the ProsKI Project

As part of the research project on resilient production planning and control through the use of artificial intelligence (ProsKI), funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, the sociogramma Institute for Market and Motivation Research conducted a study on AI skepticism in industry. Around 20 participants of all age groups from 18 to 60 years, working in the areas of production and manufacturing planning, process optimization and controlling as well as material disposition, were asked:What level of acceptance do AI and ML encounter in industry?
What opportunities or risks do potential users anticipate?A key finding of this study is that 80% of employees in industry still have little knowledge about AI. However, 75% of respondents consider AI to be helpful and the majority expect it to provide meaningful benefits for their daily work. This gives us reason for optimism for Germany as a business location!
