A cyber-physical production system (CPPS) makes it possible to automate machine-tool manufacturing, enabling unmanned production and increasing and flexibilising production capacity and utilisation. In addition to flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), our solutions support or enable industrial companies to build fully flexible, dynamic production. At the Nordtec trade fair in Hamburg we already demonstrated a cyber-physical production system built around a Korean lathe in 2020: a MiR service robot transports picked raw parts in a drawer rack according to a Kanban principle; a Universal Robot (UR) handles the components, loads them into the machine tool, we start the machining operation and the finished part is placed back into the drawer rack and transported away.
With such a cyber-physical production system, substantial value can be unlocked, because the complete control and full automation is dynamically orchestrated by us.
