AI can be applied in many ways
In companies that want to boost their productivity, AI can be used in a variety of ways. A widespread approach is the autonomous optimization of machines and systems. AI ensures that modern production machines are able to recognize patterns independently and derive automatic improvements in a targeted manner. In addition, you can rely on production planning tools. This allows production processes to be controlled even more intelligently. Last but not least, the software also contributes to improving your own product quality.
Solutions since 2003
S4P has been working for years with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in production planning and control (PPC). Using genetic algorithms, we implemented a line sequence automation tool (Lisa) connected to SAP ERP for BSH at the Dillingen plant. This tool enables the setup-optimal scheduling of daily orders on the assembly lines, visualizes the setup effort in color and even enables rescheduling via drag and drop with corresponding determination of the effects.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) can be used in production in various ways to optimize processes and increase efficiency. Some of our application examples are:
- Self-optimization of production machines: Modern production machines can use AI and ML to independently recognize patterns and correlations in production data and automatically derive improvements from this. This enables higher productivity, lower costs, improved quality and reduced downtime.
- Intelligent robots and image processing systems: AI-based systems make it possible to make robots and image processing systems in production more intelligent, more flexible and safer. They are used, among other things, for predictive maintenance, quality assurance and process optimization.
- Production planning tools: AI technologies can be integrated into independent production planning tools (see LISA) to control processes intelligently, improve product quality and reduce reject rates.
For S4P, it is important here that the specific requirements and processes in the respective production environment are taken into account in order to realize tailor-made AI and ML solutions.
