Initial situation
Manufacturing at DRAENERT STUDIO GmbH, with around 120 employees, is characterised by individual order production with high variant diversity and demanding quality requirements. Designer furniture, dining tables and natural stone pieces are produced as single units; every order is a one-of-a-kind item with specific dimensions, materials and surface finishes. Based on the ERP system ams.erp, the goal was to refine production planning further and manage delivery dates more reliably.
Challenge
Fluctuating order loads, short-notice changes and the complexity of designer furniture production required a capable fine planning solution. The goal was to optimally utilise capacities, reduce lead times and provide reliable delivery dates. Without graphical fine planning, bottlenecks and scheduling risks were only identifiable with considerable manual planning effort. Seamless integration with ams.erp was mandatory to ensure a consistent data basis between order management and fine planning.
Solution
With the Advanced Planning and Scheduling system ams.leitstand powered by 4APS, DRAENERT STUDIO GmbH established end-to-end graphical fine planning. The solution provides transparency over capacities and order progress and enables realistic, resource-optimised scheduling in close connection with ams.erp. Order and master data are automatically transferred from ams.erp; the graphical scheduling board displays all orders, resources and dates at a glance. Planners can adjust sequences by drag-and-drop and immediately assess the impact on delivery dates.
Results and benefits
By using 4APS, DRAENERT STUDIO GmbH benefits from optimally utilised capacities, shorter lead times and higher on-time delivery rates. The transparent planning improves delivery performance, increases operational efficiency and enables planning-reliable order confirmations to customers – a decisive advantage in the premium designer furniture segment. Manual planning effort was significantly reduced and a solid data basis for order management was established.
