Initial situation
Manufacturing at DTR Dräxlmaier Sisteme Tehnice Romania S.R.L. is characterised by high volumes, stringent automotive industry quality requirements and the necessity for gap-free documentation. Based on a proprietary ERP system, the goal was to substantially improve traceability of production processes for automotive plastic parts and wiring system components. With around 500 employees and a high degree of automation, the site requires a scalable traceability solution that can be implemented without modifications to the proprietary ERP system while still ensuring complete process documentation.
Challenge
The injection moulding of safety-relevant automotive components requires complete traceability of every part across the entire manufacturing process. The goal was to capture production data gap-free, assign it unambiguously and document it in a revision-safe manner. OEM customers placed particular demands on data granularity: process parameters, machine states and test results had to be captured at part level and be retrievable at any time. Integration with the existing proprietary ERP system had to be realised without system interruptions.

Machine data, process parameters and test results are captured automatically, assigned unambiguously to each part and stored throughout the entire lifecycle.
