Initial situation

Manufacturing at HETEK Lift- und Hebetechnik GmbH, with around 50 employees, is characterised by complex processes and demanding quality requirements in mechanical and plant engineering for lifting technology. Platform lifts, lifting platforms and accessibility access solutions are manufactured in project-based single-unit production. With the ERP system MyFactory as the central data basis, production and shop-floor data collection were to be more closely integrated and transparency in manufacturing was to be increased.

Challenge

Without end-to-end, up-to-date acquisition of manufacturing data, actual production progress and possible delays were difficult to track in a timely manner. The goal was to capture operating data directly in the manufacturing process and evaluate it transparently. In special-purpose machine building with small lot sizes and high quality requirements, reliable feedback from manufacturing was decisive in order to meet delivery commitments and make production progress traceable for customers.

Solution

To optimise its manufacturing processes, HETEK Lift- und Hebetechnik GmbH relies on the solutions from S4P. Through integration with the ERP system MyFactory, order, manufacturing and operating data are used end-to-end in order to enable reliable shop-floor data collection and transparent manufacturing control. Modules deployed: 4BDE – shop-floor data collection for transparent and complete feedback of all order times, quantities and fault reasons directly at the shop-floor terminal. The data is transferred automatically to MyFactory.

Results and benefits

With the solutions from S4P, HETEK Lift- und Hebetechnik GmbH achieved greater transparency in manufacturing. Manufacturing data is captured in real time, processes are better understood and deadlines are met more reliably – for more delivery reliability and efficiency. Manual feedback effort was reduced, data quality in MyFactory was improved and a solid basis for evaluations and schedule monitoring in lifting technology manufacturing was created. The solution strengthens the responsiveness to customers and supports manufacturing management in daily production control.
