Initial situation
Manufacturing at Lochanstalt Aherhammer Stahlschmidt & Flender GmbH is characterised by the production of high-quality perforated sheet metal in metalworking and tool manufacturing. With the ERP system ams.erp, commercial and order-related processes are covered. For realistic planning and transparent production control with around 75 employees, the standard tools were insufficient. Fluctuating order volumes, different perforation patterns and material variants require flexible fine planning that reflects capacities and schedules at all times.

Fluctuating order volumes, short-notice changes and the need to optimally utilise limited capacities placed high demands on production planning. Without end-to-end graphical fine planning, bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts were difficult to identify and manage early. Planners worked with manually maintained lists, which led to considerable planning effort when orders changed and put pressure on on-time delivery to customers.
