Project duration: 01.04.2016 – 31.03.2019 | Consortium leader: Salt Solutions AG | Project partners: Fraunhofer IWU – Projektgruppe RMV, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, Scheer Management GmbH, SICK AG, SICK STEGMANN GmbH | Project homepage: http://www.openserv4p.de
Objective
The project aimed to advance the development of cyber-physical production systems (CPPS) in order to enable industrial online process control by means of sensor- and event-based algorithms.
Approach
The work focused on integrating sensors into production processes, real-time-capable data processing and the development of an open-source service platform in order to move away from proprietary systems.
Industrial Benefit
The project enabled production facilities to respond independently and flexibly to changing environmental conditions, in particular for risk assessment and predictive maintenance ("as a Service").
Significance
The results serve as a nucleus for innovation. A competence and transfer centre promotes the technical qualification of intelligent sensors and sensor systems across industries and raises their profile.
